Innovative wearable apps “xPick” for pick-by-vision and “xAssist” for remote service built on SAP HANA® Cloud Platform and Google Glass deliver higher speed, fewer errors and greater flexibility to customers
Bremen, September 22nd 2015 – Ubimax, a leading supplier for industrial wearable computing solutions, today announced that it has been chosen as a winner of the SAP and Google Glass Challenge for its successful development of enterprise wearable apps using SAP HANA® Cloud Platform and Google Glass Explorer Edition technologies. The Germany-based wearable computing expert was selected from among more than 70 entries.
As an SAP partner in the SAP® PartnerEdge® program, Ubimax developed its applications leveraging tools and resources from SAP, including SAP HANA Cloud Platform, SAP Mobile Platform and Google Glass. “We are very happy being awarded as a winner of the SAP and Google Glass Challenge! The integration of our pick-by-vision solution xPick and our remote assistance solution xAssist with SAP HANA Cloud Platform now allows existing SAP customers all over the world to integrate and roll out our mature wearable computing solutions very efficiently and with complete stability,” stated Percy Stocker, COO, Ubimax.
With the proven pick-by-vision solution xPick for manual order picking, incoming, outgoing and sorting of goods as well as inventory processes, Ubimax’s customers achieve performance improvements of up to 30%. The xAssist solution reduces travel times and improves service levels of Ubimax’s customers with its options for hands-free audio and video sessions with features like document upload, chat or remote marking of items. As a winner of the 2015 SAP and Google Glass Challenge for Enterprise, Ubimax received enablement, certification and go-to-market support from SAP and Glass at Work. xPick and xAssist can be found in SAP HANA App Center, where it is discoverable and available to SAP’s 293,500 customers worldwide.

The 2015 SAP and Google Glass Challenge was offered to attract independent software vendors and SAP partners to build the most innovative applications delivering high value to customers, showcasing the best use of SAP HANA Cloud Platform and Google Glass Explorer Edition. An additional aim was to increase awareness of partnership opportunities with SAP and Glass at Work and to expedite the app development phase for partners.
